Aiming to bridge the gap between aspiring environmentalists (herself included) and established professionals, she hosts and produces the 1.5 Degrees Podcast centered around the science, solutions, and stories in the fight against climate change. Her work has previously been featured by BBC Future Earth and the Smithsonian. Edward Plimpton, PhD is a clinical psychologist who has specializes in children and adolescents for the past 30 years. He maintains a podcast "Your Anxious Child: 5 minute solutions" in which he offers practical advice but more recently been interviewing experts on a wide range of topics relevant to helping anxious children including climate concerns. Currently he works at Northampton Area Pediatrics, Northampton MA where he works with a wide range of children struggling with anxiety. Heather White is the founder & CEO of OneGreenThing and author of three books on eco-anxiety, including Eco-Anxiety: Saving Our Sanity, Our Kids & the Future (Harper Collins 2024). White's more than 25 years experience include serving as a presidential campaign staffer and recount attorney for Al Gore, the environmental counsel to a US Senator, and the executive director of three national environmental nonprofits. She's a frequent spokesperson in the national media on climate and environmental issues and has been featured on Good Morning America, NBC, PBS, ABC, and quoted in the New York Times, the Guardian, and Teen Vogue. His work focuses on research, education, capacity building, and strategic planning to support neighborhoods in postindustrial cities. By transforming vacant land into vibrant, community-led spaces, Patrick helps residents take ownership of their environment and shape their future. Through consulting, public speaking, and writing, he brings people together to explore practical, community-driven solutions that create lasting change. Kathleen Leibowitz is the Executive Director of the North Carolina non profit organization, Toward Zero Waste. Kathleen is a registered dietitian with a bachelor of science in Nutrition from Appalachian State University. She worked at Rex Hospital in Raleigh,North Carolina, as a clinical dietitian until she transitioned to the nonprofit sector working as the Volunteer Coordinator at the Step Up Organization. At the same time, her passion for sustainability was sparked by reading Bea Johnson’s book Zero Waste Home. Kathleen joined the Toward Zero Waste team as it became a non-profit in January 2020 and established the volunteer program as its first Volunteer Director. In February of 2023, Kathleen stepped into the role of Executive Director for Toward Zero Waste. In the last two years she worked with a North Carolina General Assembly representative to file eco-conscious legislation and she has facilitated a public private partnership between the county and a local realty corporation to implement the first free compost drop-off site in Raleigh. In addition, she worked to obtain grants from various entities to provide funding for the organization’s programs. Georgia Silvera Seamans is the founding director of Local Nature Lab based in New York City. She teaches environmental studies at the college level. Georgia has bylines in Urban Forestry & Urban Greening, Arboriculture & Urban Forestry, The American Gardener, City Trees, Popsci.com, and Audubon.com. Georgia is a member of BIPOC Hort and Black Botanists Week, and serves on the board of the NYC Bird Alliance. Megan Brott Sullivan is on the Board of MassEnergize and also on the operations core team, helping the organization support local climate leaders to engage their residents to take climate action. She assists with the monthly convening of a local climate leaders and in the development of othersupport for communities and community leaders as well as fundraising and budgeting support for MassEnergize. Megan is a founder and co-leader of Sustainable Medfield through which she was introduced to MassEnergize. Megan holds a BSBA in Accounting from Bucknell University and an MBA from Babson College. Speaker Bios Victoria Gilchrist is a Senior Human Rights Manager for ASM, ESG expert, and board member of OneGreenThing. Victoria holds a BA in Spanish from the University of Virginia, an MBA from the University of Southern California, and an Executive Master in Sustainability Leadership from Arizona State University. She has either lived in or travelled to 6 continents, the experiences of which have contributed to her desire to not only love the world but to help shape it for the better. Her day job allows her the opportunity to influence positive transformation in the tech industry’s supply chain in the areas of labor, environment, health and safety, ethics, and management systems. In her free time, she focuses on combatting the various forms of social injustice and human trafficking that exist around the world. Linda Reinstein is the President and Founder of the ADAO, the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization, and a renowned public health advocate, social media influencer, and distinguished speaker with a fervent commitment to fighting for the rights of those affected by asbestos-related diseases. Her activism journey began in 2003 when her husband, Alan, was diagnosed with mesothelioma, an aggressive cancer caused by asbestos exposure. In 2004, Reinstein co-founded the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) with Doug Larkin. This nonprofit advocacy organization is dedicated to preventing asbestos exposure, eliminating asbestos-related diseases, and supporting those affected by them. As President and CEO of ADAO since its inception, Reinstein has leveraged the power of social networks to unite those impacted by asbestos and advocate for a global asbestos ban. Her passion for “Art, Advocacy and Action” has been instrumental in creatively telling the deadly asbestos story. Full bio here. Lindsay Dahl is the Chief Impact Officer for Ritual, a traceable supplement company. She has over 20 years experience as a policy expert and social impact leader, including having helped pass over 30 state and federal laws that help remove toxic chemicals from consumer products. She is the author of an upcoming book, available for pre-sale, called Cleaning House: The Fight to Rid our Homes of Toxic Chemicals.
